First Step to Monitoring National Contact Points
Dutch NCP will be the subject of an OECD peer review in June 2009
20/12/2008
On 17th December 2008, at consultations held between the OECD Investment Committee and TUAC, BIAC and OECD Watch, it was confirmed that the first ever monitoring of a National Contact Point is to be carried out. The Netherlands NCP will be the subject of an OECD peer review in June 2009.
Peer review is a tried and tested assessment method, pioneered by the OECD during the 1960's and since adopted by many other organisations. Quite simply it involves the assessment of a country's policies and practices by other countries. The goal is to ensure not only compliance with established standards and principles, but also a common performance by countries.
TUAC has requested that trade unions be involved in both the design of the peer review process, as well as the peer review itself.
