TUAC - TRADE UNION ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE OECD

At a symposium held in Tokyo on 25 February, TUAC and trade unions from the Asian region called on governments to make greater efforts to implement the OECD Guidelines in the Asian region. At the meeting organised by the Japanese Trade Union Confederation RENGO and the TUAC, unions discussed the increase in the number of cases raised in the region in the past two years, the large majority of which have involved anti-union activity by employers.

The unions also agreed to step up their own efforts to get outcomes from the cases in the run-up to the G8 meeting in Japan this summer.
