Global Unions reiterated their growing and serious concerns in a common statement today, condemning the repeated use of brutal and excessive measures against people exercising their rights to peaceful demonstration and freedom of assembly in Turkey.

The Global Unions unreservedly support the international solidarity actions to start today and urgently call the Turkish government to end the violence and repression against the peaceful protestesters and to address the demands brought forward by them. It is also imperative that media coverage and medical treatement are not inhibited and authorities are held accountable for the violent actions against protesters amongst other demands.
