Global sports events, such as the FIFA World Cups and the Olympic Games, matter for the people. Given their economic and financial importance, and in light of a series of corruption cases and scandals, the governance of sporting organisations should not be overlooked. The OECD has a number of instruments (guidelines, conventions and best practices) that should be considered in strengthening the governance and integrity of these organisations and the events that they produce. This TUAC note maps out the relevant OECD instruments relevant to the governance of sporting organisations.
