TUAC made a presentation in an OECD side event on the role of innovation and sustainable development in the context of the crisis. The presentation emphasized the need for broadening work on innovation to “social innovation”, understood as those initiatives aiming at reorganizing production and/or changing behaviour. TUAC also highlighted the potential of innovation for creating “green jobs” but also, and of utmost importance, for transforming/ “greening” jobs in traditional sectors.

The need for better mainstreaming employment-related aspects of innovation in the currently discussed OECD Innovation strategy was also raised.
